The easternmost portion of the First Street municipal parking lot in downtown Riverhead, located behind Maximus gym will be closed for seal coating and restriping all day Monday, according a notice posted today on the town’s website.
The town asks that nobody park in the section of the lot after midnight or during the day on Monday. Any vehicles parked there after midnight are subject to towing, the town said.
The town renovated several municipal parking lots in July, including most of the First Street parking lot. The 40,000-square-foot section to be sealed and striped on Monday was left largely untouched last month, while other portions of the First Street lot were repaved.
