A walk will be held to raise awareness during breast cancer month and to recognize those who are or were diagnosed with breast cancer on Saturday, Oct. 30 at 10 a.m. at Grangebel Park in Riverhead hosted by the American Cancer Society.
The walk will reunite the thousands of breast cancer survivors, caregivers, volunteers and community and corporate members with a goal to ensure no one faces breast cancer alone.
Last year the walk had to be held virtually and had an estimated 65,000 participants and raised more than $2.5 million.
To register for the event or donate, please visit the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer website. Participants may also register on the day of the event starting at 9 a.m.
The event will be held in accordance with the CDC and NY State guidelines. Alternatively, participants may download the “Making Strides on the Go” app to have the 5K walk experience at the user’s convenience.
