Thomas P. Horan of Southold died at home on Nov. 17, 2021. He was 89 years old.

Born on Sept. 25, 1932 in the Bronx, he was the son of Alice (Gibbons) and Thomas J. Horan. In 1958 he married the love of his life Christine A. Meehan and together they had six children. He worked as a police officer with the NYPD for 25 years. Prior to moving to Southold six years ago, he lived in Brentwood and Charlottesville, Virginia.

Predeceased by his daughter Eileen and brother John, he is survived by his wife, his children Anne (Guy Lamolinara) of Alexandria, Virginia, Thomas of Annapolis, Maryland, Noreen Tusa (Joseph) of Mattituck, Stephan (Stephanie) of Brookeville, Maryland, and Christine of Washington, D.C.. He is also survived by his grandchildren Declan, Colin, Andrew Tusa and Dominic Tusa.

The family will receive friends on Friday, Nov. 19 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Southold. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 2 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Church in Southold. The Rite of Committal will be private.
