Everyone is invited to attend a workshop entitled “How to be an Ally” hosted by The Town of Riverhead Anti-Bias Task Force on Saturday, Feb. 19 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at Riverhead Free Library.

The event aims to explore what an ally is, when to step up and speak out, the importance of expanding beyond your immediate circle to increase your sensitivity, how to support groups or organizations and how to be a trusted force.

Presenter James “Dr. Love” Banks will guide participants through the event. He conducts sensitivity and diversity training at the Suffolk Police Academy, is a professor at Suffolk County Community College and is the Multi-Cultural Affairs Coordinator at the college.

This event is the second in the monthly series to honor of Black History Month at Riverhead Library.

To register for the event, call (631)727-3228 or visit the library’s website.
