Riverhead Town Police have charged three girls in connection with a Feb. 17 burglary at the Little Flower Children’s Services school in Wading River.

The girls, who are students there, entered the school building during the overnight hours and removed food items, police said.

The arrests were made as a result of an investigation by the Riverhead Police Department Detective Division.

Police do not disclose the identities of juveniles accused of crimes. In this case, police withheld their ages as well because disclosure might have provided identifying information about the juveniles involved, Det. Sgt. Patrick McDermott said.

Editor’s note: A criminal charge is an accusation. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
