One person was injured in a single-car crash on Riverside Drive near the Riverhead Moose Lodge Saturday afternoon at about 12:35 p.m.

A gray Honda sedan westbound on Riverside Drive left the roadway, struck a tree and overturned. Riverhead Fire Department responded to the scene to extract the driver from the vehicle. They cut the windshield from the vehicle to access the driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

The driver was conscious and speaking with first responders after the crash. He was transported by Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps to Peconic Bay Medical Center for injuries believed to be non life-threatening.

No further information was made available by Riverhead Town Police at the scene.

Riverside Drive was temporarily closed between East Main Street and the Moose Lodge while the accident scene was cleared.
