The Dashan J. Briggs Memorial Foundation was founded in 2021 in honor of Technical Sergeant Dashan Briggs, a Riverhead Native and New York State Air National Guardsman who died on March 15, 2018 while serving in Iraq. All the proceeds from the event will be donated to the foundation, which runs a scholarship award program for Riverhead and Comsewogue high schools and helps implement workshops and seminars in schools to teach important life skills, such as CPR/AED training, car maintenance, finances and basic cooking classes.
