To honor current or former military personnel, Peconic Landing will host the 11th Annual Veterans Day Wedding Giveback where one couple will receive an all-expenses-paid wedding.

The wedding for up to 82 guests will be held on Sunday, Nov. 12, 2023 at Brecknock Hall. Local businesses and organizations donate an estimated $60,000 worth of food, drinks, services and time to the event.

“This event holds a very special place in the hearts of our members and team members here at Peconic Landing,” said President and CEO of Peconic Landing Robert J. Syron. “We are so proud to join together with our neighboring businesses on the East End to provide a dream wedding for those who have served our country.”

The contest is open to couples with at least one partner that is a current or veteran service member in the U.S. Armed Forces. Applications are available through the Brecknock Hall website and must be completed by April 15. Entry requirements include three tasteful photos of the couple, written reference from commanding officer(s) or proof of honorable discharge(s), availability for in-person or Skype interview and media and photo release form.

The winners of 2022, Lieutenants Damen Weeks and Katherine Bertschi, celebrated their wedding on Nov. 13, 2022. The couple was chosen by a panel of Peconic Landing members with military ties and reviewed applicants based on years of service, military honors and each couple’s love story.

“The many vendors and most importantly the Peconic Landing Committee made our dream come true! Brecknock Hall was the perfect venue for our journey together to begin,” said Weeks. “We feel truly blessed and humbled to be selected for the Veterans Day Wedding Giveback and will never forget the hard work and coordination it took from everyone involved to make our wedding ceremony the unforgettable experience it was.”

Organizations or businesses who wish to contribute to the wedding can contact Brecknock Hall Sales and Events Coordinator Valerie Tirelli-Hallock at info@brecknockhall.com
