Crowds packed the streets of downtown Riverhead last night for the 2023 debut of the Alive on 25 summer street festival, capped off by a fireworks show after dark.

Live music, free activities for kids, games of chance, artists and craft vendors, and all types of food and beverages were available.

The crowd grew as dusk fell and the time grew near for the pyrotechnics display to mark the upcoming Independence Day holiday.

Alive on 25 is sponsored by the Riverhead Business Improvement District. The fun continues on Friday, July 14, Friday, July 28 and Friday, Aug. 11. There’s a series rain date of Aug. 18 if inclement weather causes a cancellation of one of the scheduled dates.

For more information about the festival, visit the Riverhead BID’s website, DowntownRiverhead.org.
