Riverhead Police are seeking witnesses to a motorcycle accident that claimed the life of a Calverton man Saturday night in Riverhead.

Police said Phillippe Robinette, age 40, was  operating a motorcycle on Grove Street in Riverhead Saturday on Grove Street just before 9 p.m. when he crossed over South Oakland Drive and struck a residence. Robinette was seriously injured in the accident and was transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center, where he succumbed to injuries sustained in a crash, according to the police report.

The Riverhead Police Department Detective Division and the New York State Police Accident Reconstruction Team responded to assist with the investigation.  

The accident appears to be non-criminal, police said.
