Update – 7:51 p.m. Joseph Poveromo has been located and is in good health, Riverhead Police said in a press release tonight.

Original post: The Riverhead Police Department is asking the public’s help in locating a missing man for Wading River. 

Joseph Poveromo, 25, left his family’s residence at 34 Dogwood Lane in Wading River today at approximately 12 midnight, police said in a press release. Poveromo left the area in his vehicle, a 1997 Nissan Maxima, tan in color with New York license plates LSR-1399, according to police.

Poveromo is described by police as a white male, 5′-7″ tall, weighing 150 pounds, with a fair complexion, hazel eyes, and brown hair worn in a short buzz cut. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt and a gray light hooded shirt, police said. No further clothing description was provided, police said.

Poveromo ‘s  destination is unknown at this time but he is known to frequent the Wading River, Calverton, Riverhead and Mastic Beach areas, including parks in those areas, police said. 

Poveromo is diagnosed with Aspberger’s Syndrome, ADHD, post-concussion syndrome and is possibly suicidal at this time, police said.

No foul play is suspected, according to the report.
