Updated: Feb. 7 at 5 p.m. – A winter storm watch has been issued by the National Weather Service for Saturday evening through Sunday morning for southeastern New York.

Heavy mixed precipitation is possible, the weather service said, with total snow and sleet accumulations between 3 and 5 inches. A light glaze of ice accumulations are possible.

Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous, the weather service said. Plan on slippery road conditions.

If travel is absolutely necessary during the storm, the drive with extreme caution, the weather service said.
