Peconic Avenue and Main Street (NY 25) from Griffing Avenue to Union Avenue in downtown Riverhead will be closed to traffic today from 3 to 11 p.m. for Alive on 25.
Also, the Peconic River west of the aquarium to Peconic Avenue will be closed to all boats today through 6 a.m. tomorrow due to the fireworks display scheduled for tonight’s Alive on 25 event. The fireworks this year will be set off from a barge on the river, according to town officials.
Alive on 25 takes place from 5 to 9 p.m. today with a fireworks display at about 9:15 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. For more details, visit the event website, https://aliveon25.org.
