There are two propositions on the ballot this year.
Proposal one is a proposal to allow an Olympic Sports Complex in Essex County. It allows skiing and related trail facilities on 1,039 acres of state forest preserve land. It requires the state to add 2,500 acres of new forest land in Adirondack Park.
Proposal two is a proposal to amend the term of office of county legislator from two years to four years. A yes vote would expand the term of office and allow legislators to serve the maximum of 12 years in office allowed under the county’s term limits law. A no vote would mean the legislators could be required to resign prior to end of their 12 years in office in order to comply with the Even Year Election Law.
