A Riverhead man was arrested Friday morning and charged with possessing and promoting child pornography following the execution of a search warrant at a Duryea Street residence, Suffolk County Police said.
Detectives from the Suffolk County Police Department’s Digital Forensic Unit executed a search warrant at 13 Duryea Street in Riverhead after receiving a tip from the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force Program, police said. During the search, detectives seized multiple cell phones and arrested resident Josue Duran, 33, according to police.
Duran was charged with Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child and Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child, police said. He is scheduled to be arraigned Friday at First District Court in Central Islip.
Police asked anyone with information related to Internet Crimes Against Children to contact the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children hotline at 1-800-843-5678 or Suffolk County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. Calls will be kept confidential, police said.
