Friends of The Big Duck and the Flanders Village Historical Society will celebrate the Big Duck’s 95th birthday and the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence on Saturday, Oct. 3, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Big Duck Ranch, 1012 Flanders Road in Flanders.

The free event will feature family activities on the lawn, short Revolutionary War films, nonprofit exhibits and a walking tour with the town historian. The Long Island Duck Farming Exhibit in the Victorian Barn will be open, and folksinger Caroline Doctorow will perform in the afternoon. Visitors are encouraged to wear Revolutionary era costumes.

Admission and parking are free. Drivers should enter from Otter Hole Neck Road, just east of the Big Duck. The rain date is Sunday, Oct. 4.
