Riverhead Police are investigating a motor vehicle crash late Saturday night that left a woman dead and a man seriously injured in Wading River.
Police said they received reports of the crash at about 10:20 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, in the vicinity of Wading River Manor Road, north of Grumman Boulevard. Responding officers located an injured male and female at the scene, according to a department media release.
Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance responded and transported the male to Peconic Bay Medical Center due to the serious nature of his injuries, police said. The female victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have not released the victims’ identities.
The Riverhead Police Detective Division responded with assistance from the New York State Police Accident Reconstruction Team. The investigation remains ongoing, police said.
