“The board basically excused misbehavior by narrowing its focus and did not respond to the core of our complaint," according to civic coalition that filed the complaint, which Councilwoman Jodi Giglio said had "no basis — no facts, no nothing to back it up."

The complaint says the councilwoman’s “private meeting” with the prospective purchasers impairs her ability to act impartially in the application. Giglio vehemently denies any wrongdoing in taking the meeting, which she says was simply exercising "due diligence" in reviewing the proposal.

Civic activists are planning to converge on town hall to protest a town board resolution setting a hearing date on the proposed sale of more than 1,640 acres of land inside the Calverton Enterprise Park.
