Downtown security cameras

Retired Riverhead Police Detective Evelyn Hobson-Womack, a Democratic candidate for town council, is questioning why the security cameras purchased by the town and installed in Grangebel Park remain inoperable.

Officials agree this is good news for downtown — but that may be about all they agree on, with a councilman issuing a press release taking credit for securing the funding and the supervisor issuing a press release "correcting" the councilman's announcement.
