Family of 22-year-old killed in Riverhead crash seeks help so he can be laid to rest near the grandmother who raised him.

The Riverhead community is mourning the sudden death Saturday of a 2022 Riverhead High School graduate who had an apparent cardiac arrest following a seizure, according to his family.

An online fundraiser has been started to help support the wife and two children left behind by Dashan Briggs, an Air National Guard staff sergeant who was serving in Iraq when he died in a helicopter crash Thursday.
