School board president Greg Meyer, who decided not to seek a fifth term of office this year, looks back on his time on the board and says he has mixed emotions about leaving.

Seven candidates are being considered for the Riverhead school superintendent post, according to school board member Greg Meyer, who sits on the committee interviewing candidates.

The Board of Education approved an additional expenditure to get a paint-coated rubber pellet fill, which is supposed to produce a cooler playing surface.

“There was no threat made toward the school,” Riverhead Police Captain Richard Smith said in an interview today. “There were no shooting plans mentioned, nothing like that.”
