Justin Harris

Riverhead native Justin Harris, arts academy director at Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center, earned an honorable mention from the Tony Awards in June for a special award celebrating theatre educators.

"They agitated the nation and each other for over 50 years." Mat Smart's 2019 play "The Agitators" examines the decades-long friendship of Frederick Douglass and Susan B. Anthony, two of the most important abolitionists and suffragists of the 19th Century. It will be on stage at the Vail-Leavitt weekends April 8-17.
