Riverhead’s townwide tax rate will increase 6.74% in 2026, about $4.50 per $1,000 of assessed property value, if the tentative budget presented Monday by Supervisor Tim Hubbard is adopted.

Town-wide expenditures will be funded by a tax rate of $66.99 per $1,000 of a property's assessed value. That tax represents roughly a third of the total property tax bill, which also includes school/library district, fire district and town special district taxes.
