Riverhead firefighters doused an outdoor fire raging at the Baiting Hollow Country Club at about 6:20 this evening.

Farm equipment, wood pallets, an old truck, and a car outside a storage building on the property were fully engulfed in flames when firefighters responded to the call, according to police.

Multiple passersby called Riverhead Police to report the fire, which remains of unknown origin. The Riverhead fire marshal is investigating.

Riverhead Fire Department responded with four engines, a tanker and numerous volunteers. Wading River Fire Department responded to a mutual aid request with a tanker and a brush truck. Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps also responded to stand by. No injuries were reported.
