Update: Alex Roytman, the Wading River teen seriously injured in Monday afternoon’s crash on Nicolls Road in Holtsville remains in critical condition, a spokesperson for Stony Brook University Hospital said this morning. Roytman was one of three teenagers injured in the crash when a car driven by Mykel Wylie, 18, of Riverhead, collided with a Mack truck and another vehicle on southbound Nicolls Road as Wylie’s car skidded off the L.I. Expressway service road ramp, according to Suffolk Police.
Both Wylie and his front-seat passenger, Jeremy Bornstein have been released from Stony Brook University Hospital.

Two Riverhead High School seniors and a 2013 Riverhead grad who attends Stony Brook University were injured in a crash on Nicolls Road in Holtsville yesterday afternoon.
Alex Roytman, 19, of Wading River, a passenger in the back seat of a 2002 Hyundai Elantra driven by Mykel Wylie, 18, of Riverhead, was seriously injured when the Hyundai collided with a Mack truck and another vehicle at about 2:50 p.m., according to Suffolk County Police.
Wylie and his front-seat passenger, Jeremy Bornstein, 17, of Wading River, sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the crash, police said. All three were transported to Stony Brook University Hospital.
Police said Wylie lost control of his vehicle as he attempted to merge onto southbound Nicolls Road from from the westbound L.I. Expressway service road ramp. The Hyundai “slid onto southbound Nicolls Road” and was struck by a 2001 Mack truck driven by Richard Gago, 44, of Brentwood, according to police. It was then struck by a 2013 Hyundai Elantra driven by Jeanne Macchio, 32, of Holbrook.
Macchio was treated for minor injuries at Stony Brook University Hospital and released, police said. Gago was not injured.
The vehicles were impounded for safety checks and the Mack truck was inspected by Suffolk County Police Motor Carrier Safety Unit and released, police said.
Detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed or have information on this crash to call the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652.
All southbound lanes of Nicolls Road at I-495 were closed until almost 9:30 p.m. as police cleared and investigated the scene of the crash.
