The task force, consisting of officers from Riverhead Town Police, Southold Town Police, Suffolk County Police and New York State Police conducted sobriety checkpoints and increased patrols in Riverhead on New Year’s Eve.

Editor’s note: A criminal charge is an accusation. By law, a person charged with a crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
