Riverhead Police said a driver stopped on Old Country Road late April 18 for a headlight violation was arrested on aggravated DWI charges after officers found two children in the vehicle.

A 22-year-old Riverhead man drove drunk and crashed into two vehicles, one of them head on, injuring five others and himself, the DA said.

One of the injured was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital and four others were transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center, police said.
