Update: Koko, the 10-year-old Chihuahua who went missing on New Year’s Eve was found this afternoon on a street near his downtown Riverhead home.
He was clean and seemed to be fine, according to family member Danny Quinonez.
“We want to thank the entire Riverhead community, our neighbors, friends and family for all your support. We are overwhelmed by the generosity and kindness of this community,” said family member Nidia Applin.
“Koko’s search went pretty much viral in Riverhead thanks to RiverheadLOCAL,” Quinonez said. “Everywhere I went to post flyers, they told me they seen him on Facebook.”
