Downed electrical wires in the front lawn of a Peconic Bay Boulevard residence caused a brief fire and area power outages this morning.

Jamesport Fire Department quickly extinguished a fire that resulted from the downed electrical wires, which were arcing on the front lawn of a residence.

A power outage in the area lasted for about an hour and was restored by this afternoon. A portion of Peconic Bay Boulevard was closed as emergency workers responded to the scene.
