Six people were arrested in Riverhead last night in an East End DWI Task Force and Riverhead Town Police Department enforcement operation, Riverhead Town Police announced in a press release this morning.

Police set up sobriety checkpoints and increased patrols throughout town, according to the release.

Police report the following arrests:

Horme Lindo Guzman-Mendez, 26, of Riverhead, charged with felony DWI under Leandra’s Law, endangering the welfare of a child and unlicensed. He had a two-year old girl in his vehicle, police said.

Jose W. Palacios, 36, of Hampton Bays, charged with driving while intoxicated.

Nery Joel Aparicio, 30, of Riverhead, charged with driving while intoxicated.

Steven Stamatatos, 46, of Coram, charged with driving while intoxicated.

Tyler Madden, 21, of Flanders, charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs.

David Christopher, 28, of Wading River, charged with driving while ability impaired by alcohol.

All were taken to police headquarters for processing and held for arraignment, police said.

Westhampton Beach and Quogue Village police departments participated in last night’s task force effort in Riverhead.

Police said enforcement details will continue through the end of the year.
