An Aquebogue woman was arrested on a Leandra’s Law felony DWI charge early this morning following a crash that injured her 15-month-old child on Christmas morning, according to Riverhead Town Police.

Police said Josselin Garcia, 22, was driving drunk on Hubbard Avenue at about 4:40 this morning when her car left the roadway and struck a utility pole.

Her 15-month-old child was taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center by Flanders Northampton Volunteer Ambulance for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Garcia was arrested for driving while intoxicated, violating Leandra’s Law, endangering the welfare of a child and operating without a valid New York State driver’s license. She was held for arraignment in Riverhead Justice Court.

PSEG-LI was notified due to a power outage in the area as a result of the crash.
