The Riverhead Board of Education is seeking public input in the search for a new superintendent.
Superintendent Nancy Carney announced on Dec. 13 that she intended to retire at the end of the current school year.
The board of education is inviting the community to participate in the identification of the characteristics the board will be looking for in the district’s new superintendent at a community forum on March 2 at the high school.
The board is also conducting an online survey, which can be accessed here.
Carney will have served seven years in the superintendent’s position. She was elevated to the role of upon the retirement of former superintendent Diane Scricca in June 2010 and had previously served the district as assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction.
The March 2 forum will begin at 7 p.m. at the high school in LGI Room 133. The high school is located at 700 Harrison Avenue in Riverhead.
