Six people were arrested during a special enforcement effort last night by Riverhead Police and the East End DWI Task Force, police said in a press release.
Police report the following arrests:
Mark G. Doughty, 56, of Hauppauge was charged with driving while intoxicated.
Neverson J. Funn, 31, of Riverhead was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs.
Robilio Lopez-Ramos, 42, of Southold was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated.
John T. Edwards, 31, of Elmont was charged with driving while ability impaired by alcohol.
Christopher E. Leppard, 30, of Aquebogue was charged with driving while ability impaired by alcohol.
Rebecca L. Karpf, 30, of Ronkonkoma was charged with driving while ability impaired by alcohol.
All six subjects were transported to the Riverhead Police Department where they were processed and held for morning arraignment, according to the report.
Members of the Riverhead Police Department, Suffolk County Police Department, Southold Police Department, Shelter Island Police Department, Westhampton Beach Police Department and New York State Police participated in the enforcement efforts throughout Riverhead last night, with several checkpoints and increased patrols.
Enforcement details are scheduled to continue throughout the year, police said.
