The Riverhead Blue Waves celebrated Senior Day today with a blowout win over Lindenhurst.
The Waves shut down the Lindenhurst attack, taking possession at mid-field most of the time and turning the play against Lindenhurst.
Riverhead’s passing was crisp. The Waves gained the Lindenhurst zone from all angles scored seven times. Goal scorers included Katherine Goodale, Kristy Troyan, Kayla Monticello, Angela Graziano, Rease Coleman, and two from Kayla Kielbasa.
Lindenhurst tried a late surge in the second half, but Riverhead held on, preserving the shutout for keeper Victoria Stapon. Final score: Riverhead 7, Lindenhurst 0.
