Suffolk County is again offering free flu-shot clinics in Riverhead and Hauppauge.
Flu shots will be provided at Riverhead Free Library on Saturday, Feb. 24 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon and at the H. Lee Dennison Building in Hauppauge on Thursday, Feb. 22 from 2 to 4 p.m.
“We ask residents to obtain immunization against the flu to protect not only themselves but others who may be especially vulnerable to the flu, especially infants who are too young to be immunized, pregnant women, older residents and those with other health conditions that make them more vulnerable to flu,” Suffolk County health commissioner Dr. James Tomarken said.
Flu shots are available for residents who are age two and older at local pharmacies and for everyone age six months and older at pediatricians’ and healthcare providers’ offices.
Residents with questions or who wish to preregister may call 631-787-2200 Tuesday through Friday this week, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
