Flu shots

Free flu shots will be administered by Peconic Bay Medical Center at the North Fork Spanish Apostolate on Thursday, Nov. 18 from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on a first come, first served basis.

Free health shots for residents who are uninsured or whose insurance doesn’t cover the vaccine will be provided by the county health department

Flu shots will be provided at Riverhead Free Library on Saturday, Feb. 24 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Another clinic is being offered in Hauppauge on Thursday afternoon.

Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead is offering free flu shots to the community on Thursday, Nov. 5, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

As winter approaches and flu season is nears full swing, local hospitals are urging people to protect themselves.

The Medicare Rights Center answers questions about flu shot coverage, Part D comparison-shopping and the "Extra Help" program that provides assistance with prescription drug costs for seniors with limited incomes.
