A high wind warning has been issued for Long Island ahead of a storm system expected to bring tropical storm-force winds and gusts of up to 70 mph to Long Island tomorrow.

A deep low pressure system passing south of Long Island will produce high winds, rain and snow, according to the National Weather Service. Little to no snow accumulation is expected.

The coastal low will bring heavy rain across the area late tonight into Friday, with the potential for two to three inches of rainfall, the weather service said. Heavier bands could produce localized higher amounts.

The National Weather Service has also issued a flood watch for the region and a coastal flood watch for eastern Suffolk.
