Residents who had property damage during the Oct. 12-13 storm are asked to self-report damages to their homes and/or businesses to New York State "to develop and augment potential requests for available federal assistance programs."

Strong, gusty winds and rain are expected to continue through Monday afternoon. No major damage has been reported so far, as winds take down some trees, branches and wires.

With a nor'easter forecast to bring high winds, steady rain and coastal flooding to the region Sunday, Riverhead Country Fair organizers have decided to call it off this year.

Potentially heavy rain and strong winds are expected tonight into tomorrow morning as a coastal storm bears down on the local region.

Total snow accumulations of five to 13 inches are expected across eastern Suffolk, according to the National Weather Service. Accumulations of 12 to 20 inches are forecast for western Suffolk and Nassau County, and accumulation of 16 to 22 inches expected in New York City. A winter storm warning is in effect from midnight tonight until 6 a.m. Tuesday.

A significant nor'easter could bring heavy snow and high winds to Long Island Wednesday afternoon through Thursday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

Floodwaters inundated downtown Riverhead and coastal sections ot Aquebogue and Jamesport Saturday.

A coastal storm is bearing down on the area this morning, bringing strong winds, moderate to occasionally heavy rains and coastal flooding.

High wind and coastal flood warnings have been issued for the East End in Saturday as a coastal storm bears down on the region. A flash flood watch is also in effect.

Snow continues to fall across Riverhead and the North Fork early Thursday morning, as a storm that dumped more than a foot of snow in parts of western Suffolk and Nassau moves away from the coast.
