Riverhead High School alumna Kerriann Otano, will work with several select Riverhead High School choral singers to perfect technique and performance ability. The event will take place Wednesday, April 17, at 6 p.m. at Riverhead High School.
Otano graduated from Riverhead High School in 2006 and has performed with the Washington National Opera, Wolf Trap Opera, and Mannes Opera in addition to the Fort Worth Opera Festival. She holds degrees from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in vocal performance and Mannes School of Music in voice. The soprano is set to make her debut at the Metropolitan Opera in March.
The students working with Otano will be selected based on their New York State School Music Association performance and if they performed in the NYSSMA all-state festival.
“This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for everyone involved,” said Riverhead High School choral director Dena Tishim.
