A community forum is set for Tuesday, April 30 so that residents can give the town board feedback on a proposal to serve food, wine and beer at the town beach in South Jamesport on Friday and Saturday evenings this summer. Live music would also be offered.

The town board must decide whether to authorize the Riverhead Recreation Department plan.

Board members felt they wanted community feedback before making the decision.

The forum is set for 6:30 p.m. on Apri 30 at the town’s senior center at 60 Shadetree Lane in Aquebogue.

The Greater Jamesport Civic Association will also discuss the proposal at its upcoming meeting on April 20. Councilwoman Catherine Kent will outline and discuss the plan — as well as other local issues affecting the greater Jamesport area — with residents. The civic association meeting will take place at 10 a.m. on April 20 at the Jamesport Meeting House, located at the corner of Main Road and Manor Lane in Jamesport.
