Anybody that knows me knows that I speak my mind. I say what I mean and I do what I say.
It seems I’m caught in the middle of something here with Ann Cotten-DeGrasse and the teachers’ union.
I had no knowledge of the opinion piece that Ms.Cotten-DeGrasse wrote. I read it as everyone one else did in RiverheadLOCAL. I also did not know Ms. Cotten-DeGrasse was going to say what she said to the RCFA executive board.
I ran three times before winning a seat on the board. I never was supported by the teachers’ union before, so when I was asked to sit with them to be interviewed this year, I was happy.
We talked about rumors they were told and I spoke of rumors I was told. We put everything on the table. We shook hands and I walked away knowing I wasn’t going to be supported. I have no animosity towards them. I wish good luck to Mr. Bost and Mr. Wallace.
I have always voted my conscience with the best interests of our district in mind. Having an endorsement or not having an endorsement would not change that. That’s not who I am.
Everyone, don’t forget to vote tomorrow.
