Jamesport Fire Department will host its 64th annual firemen’s bazaar this month.

The fun starts on Tuesday, July 23, when the bazaar opens with midway games, rides, games of chance and food vendors on the property of the George Young Community Center on South Jamesport Avenue. The bazaar continues through Saturday, July 27 and runs from 6 p.m. till 11 p.m. during the week and from 4 till midnight Saturday.

On Wednesday, July 24, the Jamesport Fire Department’s annual parade steps off at 6:30 p.m. on Main Road at Washington Avenue and heads east, ending on Manor Lane. The big parade features marching bands and trucks from fire departments near and far. It’s the biggest parade of the summer and hundreds of people line Main Road each year to watch it pass by. (See more photos from last year’s parade here.)

Saturday night after dark, a spectacular fireworks display will light up the Jamesport sky. (The show begins approximately 9:15.)

The weeklong event has been a North Fork family favorite for generations. It’s a fundraiser for the Jamesport Fire Department, whose volunteers provide fire and rescue services in Jamesport, Aquebogue and Laurel.
