A pedestrian died after being struck by vehicle that fled the scene in Riverside Thursday night, Southampton Town Police said.

Police said David Humberto-Amaya, 33, described by police as undomiciled, was struck by a vehicle on Flanders Road near Old Quogue Road at just before 6:230 p.m. yesterday. He was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries, according to a police press release issued this afternoon.

Southampton Town Police detectives are investigating. They ask anyone who has information about the incident to contact the Southampton Town Police Detective Division at 631-702-2230.
