The Riverhead Police Department Detective Division responded to investigate.

Osborn Avenue was closed to traffic in both directions between the Middle Road traffic circle and Mill Road from the time of the crash until approximately 8:40 a.m.
Editor’s note: This story has been updated twice since its initial publication to add new information about the incident and to reflect the fact that there was only one person transported to the hospital, not two as first reported.
