Jamesport celebrated the holiday season last night with caroling, cocoa and the sound of a fire truck’s siren heralding the arrival of Ol’ St. Nick himself to greet youngsters and listen to their Christmas wishes.

Jamesport’s annual tree-lighting ceremony took place on the community green outside the George Young Community Center, hosted by the Jamesport Fire Department and the Greater Jamesport Civic Association.

The tree-lighting is a holiday season favorite in Jamesport. After the songs were sung and the colorful lights were aglow, Santa arrived by fire engine and held court inside the community center, posing for pictures with kids of all ages.
