The Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps (RVAC) is hosting its 8th Annual Holiday Toy Drive for the benefit of Cohen Children’s Medical Center (CCMC). The event is set to take place at the Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Headquarters, 1111 Osborn Avenue, on Sunday, Dec. 8, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The toy drive aims to collect new toys for children at CCMC. However, there are certain guidelines on the type of toys that can be donated. The hospital cannot accept items such as Play-Doh, food or candy, Lego kits, clothing, blankets, hats, stress balls, handmade items, baby toys, violence-based toys, battery powered cars, science kits, old or used toys, and stuffed animals that are not in factory sealed plastic.

For those who wish to contribute but cannot drop off on the specified date, a drop-off bin is also available at JJ Armory LLC, located at 38 W. Main St., Riverhead.
