The Riverhead Blue Waves boys basketball team fell to Bay Shore Thursday 71-49, ending their 2025 playoff run.
The Waves entered the fourth quarter trailing by nine points, but only managed to put five more points on the board before the final buzzer of the night, while Bay Shore added 18.
Landon Zaleski and Peter Lagnena led the Waves in scoring with 16 points each.
Bay Shore (20-1) moves on to the AAA bracket semi-finals to face William Floyd (18-3) on March 4 at Longwood High School.
Riverhead finished the season 8-4 in League I and 11-10 overall.\
