Area school district voters approved 2025-2026 operating budgets by wide margins in voting Tuesday.
Riverhead voters approved a $211.4 million budget by a vote of 1,004 to 793. A proposition to spend $2.93 million in capital reserve funds to improve the kitchens at Riley Avenue and Phillips Avenue elementary schools also passed, 1,188 to 590. Two school board members running unopposed, Matthew Wallace and James Scudder, were elected to new three-year terms.
Shoreham-Wading River Central School District
Shoreham-Wading River voters approved an $89.3 million budget by a vote of 513 to 145. A proposition to spend nearly $6.9 million in capital reserve funds also won approval by a vote of 513 to 142.
Two school board members running unopposed, Thomas Sheridan and Meghan Tepfenhardt, were elected to new three-year terms.

Voters in surrounding school districts also approved budgets. The results, according to the districts’ websites or district social media accounts were as follows:

- Greenport Union Free School District, 227-57
- Hampton Bays, 509-120
- Longwood Central School District, 1,097 to 545
- Mattituck-Cutchogue Union Free School District, 384-156
