The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for snow of 3 to 5 inches or more this afternoon. Accumulations of 6 to 9 inches are possible across eastern portions of the twin forks, the weather service said in the advisory. The winter weather advisory is in effect until 5 p.m.
The extreme cold warning and wind advisory remain in effect.
The extreme cold warning is in effect from 6 p.m. tonight through 1 p.m. tomorrow. Dangerously cold wind chills as low as 20º below zero are expected, according to the weather service.
The wind advisory is in effect until midnight tonight. Northwest winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.
