A Flanders woman was arrested Saturday after police said she sold alcohol to a person younger than 21 at the 7-Eleven in Flanders during an underage sales compliance check.

Gloria Orozco-Diaz, 46, was charged with unlawfully dealing with a child, a misdemeanor, and prohibited sale of an alcoholic beverage under the New York State Alcoholic Beverage Control Law, Southampton Town Police said.

The department’s Community Response Unit conducted the Oct. 24 checks at local establishments to determine compliance with State Liquor Authority requirements, police said.

Orozco-Diaz was released on appearance tickets for arraignment at a later date.

Police identified eight establishments that complied with the requirements: Marta’s Deli in Riverside; USA Gas Station in Flanders; Shell Gas Station in Riverside; the Shell stations on Montauk Highway and at Canoe Place in Hampton Bays; and The Station Bar, Club Dream and Mobil Gas Station in Hampton Bays.

Editor’s note: A criminal charge is an accusation. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
